Dubai flower importer is in debt from day 1
Luckily, in the flower industry there are a lot of good and trustworthy customers. But, unfortunately this industry is also known for a large number of bad debtors and fraudsters worldwide. A flower importer from Dubai started his company in 2021 and created the first debts within a couple of months. He continued to defraud new suppliers in 2022 and 2023 and has established a new company last month and is now searching for new victims.
Two or three partners run the business from Dubai. They contact suppliers in flower production countries all over the world. The business relationship is usually short, only for a couple of months and in some cases only two orders were made, which have been left unpaid. Between 2021 and 2023, the importer made debts to suppliers in Holland, Colombia, Ecuador, Kenya and Australia. We found out that they also have local VAT debts, which usually leads to high penalties in Dubai.
Last month, one of the owners approached suppliers again with a new company name, 5 days after the new company was established. This company is located in the same area and the owner uses the same phone number as before. It seems like another attempt to make victims.
Be warned and do not do business with the relevant importer, because this can eventually lead to a considerable amount of damage!
